The Swinging With Purpose Story
When I retired in early 2012, I finally had the time and energy to make a difference in my Community. I thought, what better way to do so than to combine my passion for golf with my passion for women and children? Why not invite golfers in my community to swing with purpose?
As karma would have it, at that same time, I met and befriended LPGA and World Golf Hall of Fame Member and Golf Legend, Nancy Lopez. I shared my SWP vision, she offered her enthusiastic support. From that chance meeting, Swinging With Purpose® became a reality. Since our inaugural golf tournament held in 2013, we have distributed more than $1,400,000 in monetary and in-kind donations to numerous organizations serving women, girls and children in Florida.
Swinging With Purpose® is a 501c3 organization that provides support to grassroots organizations serving the needs of women, girls and children in communities across the country. Through various golf venues, we invite golfing communities to “swing with purpose” for their respective communities.
Our vision is to invite non-profit organizations and Golf Clubs to “swing with purpose” with use of the Swinging With Purpose® trademark license. We’ve developed a template for golf-related fundraising success and we’re ready to share those proven techniques, resources, and relationships to make a difference in communities throughout the Country.
We can only be successful in making a difference in the lives of these women and children through the generosity of their communities. I, the Swinging With Purpose® Board of Directors and our beneficiaries, thank you in advance for believing in the goals and mission of Swinging With Purpose® and for helping make its vision a reality.
